I have acquired the spruce bits from a 128 year old Chickering piano and am in the process of a converting those bits that can be reused into brace wood, and other guitar parts. So far I have salvaged the ebony key pads, the ivory laminates for the keys, and converted the quartersawn spruce keys themselves into usable brace wood lengths for tone bars and finger braces. Im looking forward to pairing these glassy sounding old growth braces with some of the 50 year old Sitka and perhaps a rosewood set from the Bozo stash that Larry and I purchased a couple of years ago. We are also going to make it available to our students in the Acoustic Guitar class that started last week.
