Larry McCutcheon has spent the last couple of weeks converting the drive system from a motorized security gate opener into an automated sander for radiusing the rims of our students guitars.

This device has a reduction gearbox that provides high torque at low speeds (about 30 rpm); and should aproximate the peak speed of a rather frenetic manual sanding session, without the effort and sweat, and with significanlty
improved consistency.

This device should significantly reduce the amount of class time that is devoted to the menial task of “driving the bus”.
