Great start to the 2024 Steel String Acoustic Guitar building Class today. After the requisite saftey orientation and liability waiver paperwork, students were given a primer on tonewood, those who had not previously purchased marterials were able to choose some nice tops and EIR back and side sets from Bozo’s legacy collection, and began shaping bracewood and jointing tops and backs with the amazing Veritas Shooting Plane and Shooting Board system.
This year we are concentrating on demonstrating and discussing mutltiple methods to acheive a result in order to make it easier for students to build their next guitar at home without feeling they need to spend piles of money to buy the special jigs used in the classes.
Larry McCutcheon, Jim McWilliam and I are looking forward to seeing their progress.
